For those wondering, I do my videos unaccompanied due to several reasons, a. so people know it's my playing without any doubts such as "that's not you, that's the song/backing track", b. there are more than enough people on youtube that already use backing tracks or go along with the song anyway, so I figured doing mine unaccompanied would be a bit refreshing for some people, and finally, I enjoy the extra challenge of playing unaccompanied, it's a lot tougher especially considering there's nothing to mask any mistakes.
On a side note, regarding people complaining about my tone/sound...folks, I'm recording straight up raw, I'm not plugged in to a computer, software, fancy recording equipment or anything like that, I'm recording with a camera that has a microphone about the size of a pea (if that), so umm, yeah, it's probably not going to capture the greatest of sound quality. Simple physics...loud noise + tiny microphone = Bose wave radio sound quality? Helllllllllll no. Ever see bootleg/home video footage of concerts? Do you honestly think that's how it sounded in-person? I think not. Quite frankly the sound quality of my camera actually surpassed the expectations I had. Btw, it also helps if you actually listen with good quality speakers and not through a laptop or cell phone ;) (And if you're still concerned after all of that, buy me the so-called 'best' equipment or get lost)
