The essential argument is that there have been many people who shed blood and died for this country who held beliefs other the monotheism or didn't believe in a god at all, do you really want to continue to dishonor them? Not to mention the nations of Native Americans we persecuted and killed only to now live in shadow of their former life and they don't hold to a monotheistic view and many pay taxes and died in our wars.
