@anthony1bad351 Thanks...high 10's was as fast as I could get it...it was severely traction limited off the line since I never put slicks on.

@fourwheelerjock In my opinion no...it will give you a little more torque, but the 408 is plenty torquey as is.

@fourwheelerjock You certainly can. There are a number of stroker kits available. I wouldn't go beyond 427 on a standard 351W block though.

@mikead24 A 408 is one of the many stroker kit options for a 351 based block. Some of the most common are the 357,393,408 and 427....but I have seen almost every possible number within that range on a 351 based block. Any displacement beyond 427 shouldn't be attempted unless you have a racing blo...

@3O2MuStAnG Thats a Dart block which is just about as strong as it gets. 375 has got to be very close to the displacement limit of a 302 based engine, but a block like that should be able to tolerate it.

@3O2MuStAnG
Basically if you are looking for maximum power and not as concerned about streetability, go with a solid cam (uses solid lifters). A hydraulic cam (uses oil filled lifters) requires less routine maintanence and is a bit easier for more of a street car...depends on your usage.
