I did what the program says, so I guess I am happy.
Message to Pablo: Check at 05:14 You can see my knees coming inward a little in the concentric portion of the lift in the last rep in this set. I filmed from this angle by the end of the workout to see how able I was to keep my knees correct. There is a slight inward rotation, but as you can see, I do my best to combat it, and the overall result is not bad, but still not perfect.
Message to steroidsR4losers: Thank you for the great work about getting the message out there.
My statement:
Steroids are for cheaters. And it is a fact: Most people do not have the dedication and patience to become strong naturally. It takes a lot of effort, dedication and sacrifice. In fact, most people will never be able to achive any substantional results because of those factors. Therefore, many choose to cheat their way. This is however no sustainable solution, and if you want to become truly strong in mind and body, the natural way is the only true way. If you're a natural lifter and someone accuses you of steroid use, then take this as a compliment, because in their eyes you've achived something that they can't understand have been achived naturally. It not only shows how limited their thinking is, but also how successful you are. In general ignorant statements come from people with no knowledge about the strength sport, but the knowledge they do have come from the fact that there sadly is rampant usage of steroids throughout the strength community. So this fact is something all natural lifters have to live with. If you achive anything out of the ordinary, then you'll be accused of doing steroids by someone at some point. Don't get upset about it, just smile and thank them for their compliments, and at the same time explain how you feel about it without getting to offensive. :) There are people who do travel the hard way, like me. :) Be proud of your accomplishments! :)
Steroid usage in the strength community will (sadly) never stop, and the ignorant critics will never stop unleashing their criticism, even if they miss their target (ie. a steroid user) and hit a perfectly legit lifter with their accusations. Obviously there are clues to look for when making a judgement about someone, clues that people like this won't even consider (or know about). Some people just jump to the conclusion that someone big and strong automatically is on steroids. This is a result of the bad reputation lifting has in the general public, exactly because of all the steroids that are used by impatient lifters who don't want to do it naturally.
This is sad and something that the hardworking natural athlete do not deserve.
However, there do exist intelligent and hard working people out there who dedicate their resources to becoming as strong as possible without cheating. The dedication, smartness, willpower and grit of a skilled natural lifter is something the ignorant critics ignore.
In the end, what truly matters is that you stay true to yourself. Even if your videos are on youtube, or if you go to meets, the only one you cheat if you cheat is yourself. At the same time, the natural lifter knows he has a clean sheet, so he just smiles at the accusations (arguing against people who throw out incorrect accusations is just a waste of time).
I'll leave the comments on this video up, I'm not worried about anyone writing anything bad about me, as I know the truth myself: I work hard. I am consistent and extremely dedicated. Therefore I am a strong squatter. I've found that success in training can be achived through methods that are know to anyone willing to pick up a book about training, but sadly so few are able to apply these methods. If anyone reads this description, here are the most important points to follow if you want to become strong:
* Sleep a lot (strength is built when you sleep) * Eat a lot, and get enough proteins (these are the building blocks for muscles) * Don't just train hard, follow a plan, and set longterm and short term goals. * Don't be afraid, trust in yourself. * Have good technique. Technique over weights. * Patience. You might be weak now, but several years down the road, you might be pretty strong. * Will power. A lot of the time it is not fun to workout. You still have to keep going. * Pain. Pain is your friend. Don't be afraid to push yourself. * Intelligence. Know when to push it, and when to back off. * Stay away from injuries. * Remember your plan is not written in stone, sometimes you must adjust.
That's some pretty good advice right there, and follow these tips, and make it your lifestyle, and you'll see that you'll gain a lot of strength over a few years. Personally I've been at it for 11 years now. So long!
