I was doing a tribute to my girls, the Shangri-las. But as I worked my way through the song I realized that the words meant so much more then what I was showing, especially in this day and age. So halfway through the video, this also became a tribute to our military.
This split of focus is either the strength...or weakness of this presentation.
Lyrics:
When Johnny comes marchin' home again, hooray, hoorah.
[Mary:] Long live our lo-ah-ah-ove. Long live our happiness. Here's a toast to happiness. Long live our love.
When we were childhood sweethearts, We had made a simple vow./(Ooo-ooo-ooo.) Vowed to love each other, And I know we won't stop now./(Ooo-ooo-ooo.)
[All:] Long live our lo-ah-ah-ove. Long live our happiness. Here's a toast to happiness. Long live our love.
[Mary (sung):] Something's come between us. And it's not another girl./(Ooo-ooo-ooo.) But a lot of people need you. There is trouble in the world./(Ooo-ooo-ooo.)
[Mary (spoken over vocal stylings of backup singers):] It's the fighting that has come between us, And' it's taken you far, far away. But please, don't wonder if I'll be faithful, You're in my heart both night and day. So, darling, I send my love to you, While you are fighting overseas. And I know one day if we are lucky, God will send you back to me.
[All (sung):] Long live our lo-ah-ah-ove. Long live our happiness. Here's a toast [glasses clink] to happiness. [ Find more Lyrics on www.mp3lyrics.org/NDp3 ] Long live our love.
[Mary (spoken over "When Johnny comes marching home again, hooray, hoorah"):] Please, Lord, don't let anything happen to him, please. I'm waiting for you, Johnny, I'm waiting.
[All (sung):] Long live our lo-ah-ah-ove. Long live our happiness. Here's a toast [glasses clink] to happiness. Long live our love.
Long live our lo-ah-ah-ove. Long live our happiness. Here's a toast to happiness. Long live our love.
[Fade.] Long live our lo-ah-ah-ove. Long live our happiness. Here's a toast...

How can I forget the most SALIENT SIMILARITY -- THE EBULLIENT SMILE OF WILLIAM HOLDEN!!!
(((H))), KIMY
So sorry for the loss of YOUR Taiwanese Princess. I've gone through the same process in the passing of my beloved late husband (hazel-eyed, Professor from Virginia). My grieving will never cease; he'll always be in my heart. So I empathize with you WHOLEHEARTEDLY!!! My odyssey with William Holden started when I viewed "Remarkable Andrew" -- Andrew reminded me of my late husband in so MANY ways
( integrity, voice, tenderness, playfulness, physique, discipline ...). When I look at HOLDEN's gaze on my Homepage, I'm gazing back at my late husband -- great comfort to me. If you're so inclined, share with me how your Princess was like (I'm an Asian).
Very seldom do I share this much on the Internet -- you've tugged at my heartstrings.
Take care, (((H))) KIMY
