Africare's president, Dr. Darius Mans sits down with World Bank Managing Director Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf just before Africare's Bishop John T. Walker Memorial Dinner. They discussed the present state of African politics and economics and their vision of the continent's future, including views on the roles women will play in the future
Dr. Okonjo-Iweala was honored with the Bishop John T. Walker Humanitarian Award for the sweeping economic and social reforms that she instituted as Nigeria's Minister of Finance, which improved Nigeria's financial stability, and for her outstanding contributions to the Bank's efforts to help countries in Africa hard hit by the food, fuel, and financial crises.
