@photovideo270 Yeah i recall the Alfa drama :), when the XR8's were found to be illegal Ford pulled out and that was that really. IMO i think alot of teams/manufacturers from that era might have bent the rules a little such was the desperation to win.

Actually Gordon Murray wanted to design 'the ultimate drivers cars' with the F1. Paul Rosche designed an engine with much more power than was requested and IMO that made the F1 too hairy at the limit ( with its street tyres).
