Horowitz always played with the fingers flattened and the right pinky curls under sometimes, this is the best technique to get the fingers to be free from strain for the piano and surprisingly Scarlatti was a favorite of his to play, perhaps to play homage to his father in law Toscanini!

Pogorelich is one of the legendary pianists of all time, Scarlatti is played elegantly and with grace and sophistication the way it should be. This is the major leagues my friends!
