Narrates the eye-witness Yaltisn Kutsuk, officer during the invasion, and afterwards a professor: Those who were escaping death, were caught as prisoners. The ways of murder varied: they were shooting some in cold blood as soon as they saw them, or they(Turks) were saying to others to run and then with sadistic satisfaction they were shooting them in the back. They were putting others before walls and were shooting them with machine guns. The worse atrocities happened at the village Tympou. The village was almost empty. Suddenly, gunshots were heard and then a voice: I killed, my captain, I killed... They had emptied two clips in the uterus of a young woman, whose hands were bound behind her back and her legs were open. She was a girl with special needs... I saw many murders in Cyprus but this one shocked me...
"Rauf Denktash was, indeed, a war criminal, not Karadzic.." Yaltisn Kutsuk, "Dalga - Dalga"
Music: Mikis Theodorakis, Varka sto gialo, Nikos Xylouris, O Digenis

The United Nations-led Committee on Missing Persons confirmed that the families of the five soldiers in the photographs, which have become synonymous with the struggle of Greek Cypriots to discover the fate of hundreds of missing people, had been informed of the results of forensic tests.
The remains of the five soldiers, named as Antonakis Korellis, aged 30, from Kythrea; Panicos Nikolaou, aged 26, from Achna; Christoforos Skordis, aged 25, from Dhali; Ioannis Papayiannis, aged 23, from Neo Horio, Kythrea; and Philipos Hatzikyriakos, aged 19, from Ammochostos, were found in a well along with the relics of 14 others, also thought to be Christian Cypriots.
"It is a cold-blooded execution", said Andreas Chatzikiriakou, the brother of one of those killed on August 14, 1974. "I can never accept this."
The Turkish government had not commented on the findings. Saturday, 8 August 2009
