============================
"The problem of the united front - despite the fact that a split is inevitable in this epoch between the various political organizations basing themselves on the working class - grows out of the urgent need to secure for the working class the possibility of a united front in the struggle against capitalism.
For those who do not understand this task, the party is only a propaganda society and not an organization for mass action."
Leon Trotsky
On the United Front (1922)

It's sad to hear of Chris Harman's death. I was at the Rethinking Marxism conference in Mass. when news reached folks there of his passing. People expressed their gratitude for his devotion to real economic analysis and for his voice being one of the few voices articulating the fact that this crisis was not a financial crisis but a crisis of capital.

A great mind has been silenced but the stuggle goes on. We stand on the shoulders of giants and Chris was certainly one of those giants

Hey Ady, I'm making a documentary called "Age of Extremes" that will look at the period from 2001-9 when Bush declared the so-called War on Terror. I want to look at the issues that may have radicalised some muslims in Britain and role of the media in shaping public opinion. I would very much like to use some seconds from the Stop the War in Gaza demonstration you filmed. Can you please get in touch. Ishmahil
