@SisyphusTwo and had you been in Indonesia do you think you would have been able to protest like this? Have your say? A point of view different to that of the government? Careful what you wish for.

Eire's Polk originators going off 'Down Under'Adjusted Johns Junk Band Association blend a mixture of traditional folk with contemporary lyrics and a healthy dose of anarchy and irreverence. At the forefront of the Polk music explosion in Europe, the band have toured extensively across the world playing festivals, community centres , morris dances and train carriages anywhere from Eire, Uk, Orkney's, China, Cambodia, Papua New Guinea and New Zealand.
Since arriving in Australia at the end of 2010 the band have been regulars playing festivals in NSW and are fast becoming a regular feature on the inner city folk scene in Sydney. On stage the band invite their musician friends or members of the audience to join them creating an all inclusive vibrant atmosphere.
In Australia so far they have played with the likes of Tim Rogers, Dave Graney, Bettina Schelker ,Chosani Afrique and George Mann at shows including The Bitter and Twisted Festival and the Illawarra Folk Festival.
History of Polk
The Lagavarius forms the basic unique rhythm of Polk music. It is first mentioned in the Orkney Islands Gazette of May 1912 although it is believed this unique instrument dates back in traditional music as far as the Dark Ages, though most of the original instruments have been destroyed by fire, flood and wars over the sands of time.
The instrument consists of a hard fibre box which is often covered with the traditional tartan of the player. Fragments of old specimens have even been found clad in seal skin. The lagavarius can be played by hand, stick or an elasticated percustrument known as 'The Clackers'.
Adjusted John first heard the instrument
while on a european tour co-headlining with Irish folk legends Jimmy McGillicuddy and the Heathen Coals. He was instantly hooked, and set about making prototypes with the culmination being an instrument that re-invigorated a whole genre of folk fanatics.
Acoustic guitar forms the back bone of Polk music combined with off beat percussion. When playing live for the Australian shows, AJJBA use a lagerphone and various percustruments to form the unique Polk vibe.
The Future of Polk
AJJBA have international tours planned in 2011 for the following countries: China, UK, Orkney Islands, and for the first time - Peru.
They will be based in Eire and Australia and are currently looking for more shows, especially festivals and unique bush venues
Very seldom do you hear a cover that transcends the original but this is it
