@homelesspimps the lsx motors have a different bellhousing bolt pattern. so either a newer ls1 T56 or 4l6(8)0E will work. Unless you can find a 5 spd from a 99 - newer truck, and they only came behind a 4.8l.

@rastclart Equal Length headers are the reason behind exhaust note unfortunately. Unless I'm trying to squeeze every ounce of HP out of my motor, or build a high HP application, I'll stick to the beautiful sound of the stock Unequal Length headers.

Why change out the transmission and rear diff? Build wise they are the same except the 2.5rs has a 4.11 vs the WRX's 3.9 which would make that lil 2.0 more fun. Unless you were having problems w/ the RS tranny already.

@qjezzy UnEqual Length (UEL) headers. That's what give Subaru its signature sound. If you want a great growl to go w/ it get a Stromung catback.

@justjoekeane Its the same hood as the JDM STI's except its not aluminum and the hood vents are a bit different design. Just like the newer American STI's, the hood scoop is for the TM Intercooler; which these don't have a turbo. Perfect canidates for WRX/STI swaps.

@Mariomonsta Depends on what you're looking for. Kits will run $3k-$4k but have a max of 5-7 psi and no telling how long the motor will last. A swap will run $5k-$10k depeding on what you swap over. Research it. there are many, many forums on this. RS25.com is a good place to start.

At :29 his fart can farted! No 4/6 cyl sounds better than a Subie w/ UEL headers. Stupid Japanese for using EL headers on their V8 and up STI's, but hey the love that ricer sound. Hopefully the US doesn't go that route.
