I remember this was my first synth encounter, circa 1982, at a Radio Shack. I had just heard about synthesizers and how they can make nearly any sound (techinically not true, but I liked that explanation). I was enthralled to see one inperson; too bad the clerks at Radio Shack in Owensboro, KY wo...

The Rankin Bass logo is my fav...after every stop-motion animated feature it reminded me that Santa Claus is, indeed, coming to town. I still get jazzed (at 38 years of age) every time I see it after my young sons watch "Rudolph" or "Frosty".

Re-recorded as "I'll Stay" as Funkadelic on STANDING ON THE VERGE OF GETTING IT ON in 1974. Two VERY different songs...one about heartache...the other about what seems like an acid casualty. Both primo, can't decide which I like best.

Beautiful! Eldridge DeBarge was the greatest tenor/falsetto singer since Smokey Robinson. And the harmonies are magical. Yeah, I know...there's nothing in today's music like it. But that's just because voices like that come around rarely in any era. Great subtle production, too.
Surprisingly funky for a bunch of C&W studio pros!
