The Julie Dolphin-11-Still Life.mp4

This is a minor masterpiece I've loved since it came out in 1994. TJD became Boom Boom Mancini and then the two protagonists returned to New Zealand to form The Bads, at the time of writing two excellent albums down and a third on the way. The melancholy of this particular track just gets to me, ...

Tim Pope's videos were another great aspect of The Cure. His vid for Night Like This was one of the first to be filmed (in parts) speeded-up to appear slow mo in real time. I think The Police's Wrapped Around Your Finger (1983) was the first.

@ampheat The best explanation I've heard is 'Echo Beach' is fictional, but if you want it to be somewhere, it's Sunnyside Park at the Western Beaches in Toronto. In 2003 I saw a bench there with 'Martha' etched into it, so it must be true!

It's a combination of Wild Thing and Love Is All Around, played sideways. Caroline DJ Rick Dane said (Dec 66) 'This could be the new in-sound of 1967'. But it wasn't. The Beatles were busy recording Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields while Reg was reinventing this particular wheel.
