There is a metaphor of rhizomatic growth, reaching through and penetrating the existent fabric like a resurgence of organic structure on and within. A kind of mergence and emergence, a material ambiguity revealing the structure that lies beneath the surface of appearances. What we recognise as familiar is rendered other and outside of experience, offering new possibilities for reworking the archive (the accumulated residue of human endeavour condensed into the forms which signify the human world), that is; the very form of the material world we create around us. Reworking the archive offers the hope of an always promised future in an always possible now.
