"The days of dog fights are over! ". Even during the dogfight days of World war II maneuverability was not the first desirability of a fighter plane. SPEED is always first with its ability to engage or disengage in combat. Second is firepower which affords one the ability to stay, fight and win, or run away. Maneuverability is in a tie with combat range for the third desirability of a fighter plane. All the loop-the-loops, or being able to turn with, or out-turn the enemy aircraft won't do a fighter pilot any good if he can't shoot the enemy down and/or get away without being followed. Just as Luftwaffe General Adolph Galland wanted a, "Squadron of Spitfires during the Battle of Britain, so would an F-18 be superior to this Russian "Air Show Toy".

The aircraft does a great imitation of what would happen too it after getting slammed with an AIM-120 from an F-22. In no way, shape or form is this aircraft a match for the Raptor, which would kill it without ever being seen. The SU-30 has a radar cross-section the size of Texas. A great airshow airplane, but a death trap for anyone going up against a Raptor.

What a bunch of crap! So by being almost stall proof and by being able to pull out of a flat spin, you are suggesting that is the "best" fighter aircraft? I would agree that it can do some amazing arial "stunts", but would be no match for the F-22 and it's advanced radar. F-22 would detect & engage from a far superior disance, without ever being seen on radar. I mean what good does it do to be able to put your aircraft into a "tail dive"? The days of dog fights are over!
