    Thanks for the instructional video. You're confusing efficiency with power consumption. The efficiency is the power output divided by the power input. You didn't do any calculation of that value. Also, the C458 and other transistors you showed are all Japanese with the collector in the center....

    You don't have to read the resistor code. All you have to do is connect the resistor to the test leads of a cheap Digital MultiMeter set to ohms and read the value off the display.

    You're very innovative. But the LED light requires 2 or 3 watts to be as bright as on the AC line. And a single AA cell is just too low power to do that. It needs more batteries. I think I'd start with 8 AA cells and use one of the circuits that Xee2 (xee2vids) has here on YT for a LED...

    I was disappointed to see you use the clip leads, when you had a soldering iron right next to the circuit. Clip lead 'spaghetti' just adds confusion in a picture or video. It would have been a lot easier to follow without the spaghetti.
