Wow, you make that shift into the high register at 1:25 look so easy. I can never hit it without either broadening the tempo or making a mistake. Gotta keep at it I guess.

I used to think this clip was fantastic, just because of its expressive power. However, now that I have learned how to count the compas properly, and can follow it reasonably well, this bulerias is so far beyond fantastic. I don't even have a word for it.

Does anyone else hear a little bit of 'L'isle Joyeuse' by Debussy towards the end of this piece? Especially from 7:50 to the end, the harmonies, motives and textures in the two pieces sound remarkably similar. Not to detract at all from this wonderful and original composition of Messiaen, but rat...

a wonderful example of perfect technique not as an end in and of itself, but rather as a means to a subtle, sensitive and engaging musical performance. It's like he's saying "look at bach!" as opposed to "look at me!", which i enjoy very much in a guitarist.
