Spine-tingling music. You gotta love the National. I'd pay to see them, not every day, but probably twice a week. At around £20 a ticket. I would definitely pay £40 a week for a year. i would probably like them to mix up the set list a bit, but wouldn't insist on it if Matt wasn't keen.

On the song, I believe the words are Lorca's. Quite striking that you have the lyrics of one of the greatest ever poets, and it sounds like Leonard's...

He's my favourite of all time, and some it is tongue in cheek.... but I can sure as hell understand why the music gets filed under "depressing".

Some pretty poor performances from an amazing band in these series of videos. And not Matt, the version of Vanderlyle is off from pretty much all members of the band.

Actually I think they pull off Sorrow better than most of the others.

The band still rules though ;)

Oh god. So so beautiful. Really so depressing - not just sad - but depressing. And I'm an ardent Cohen fan who thinks much of his music is uplifting.

But FBR... really like heroine, I need to come back to it even though it brings tears to my eyes each time.
