You think you're cooler than me? Well you probably are...but you're definitely not cooler than Mike Wilson. He raised the bar with his unprecedented ropeswing triple backflip into the Truckee River. In case you missed it, the release point on this particular rope swing was 60 feet high, and Mike was over land for a majority of the jump...until he somehow torpedoed into the narrow "window of opportunity" section of the river. Wilson stomped, stomped, and stomped some more...to which you would think he would go home and rest. Not the case. Wilson's a Beast! Instead of patting himself on the back while claiming illest rope swing/extremist in the western hemisphere, Mike Wilson lost sleep, weight and sanity thinking about how he was going to one-up himself. The creative wheels started turning and the hit was on...Wilson concocted a quadruple back flip off a 99 foot rope swing into the royal blue depths of Lake Tahoe. With the unique combination of childlike eagerness and calculated focus, Mike crafted a pulley system conducive to rocking a quadruple back flip. A four-day shoot session started with a California sunrise and Subway sandwiches...hand-delivered by Wilson's Mom!
The events that took place between Sunrise, Day 1 and Sunset, Day 4 were out of control. The Shreddy Times Crew scoured the lake/cliffs to get, the, shots. Large crowds gathered on the cliffs, boats and waterbound onlookers pulled up to enjoy the "Great Show", a term coined by Wilson's fan and father. Mike Wilson trajected himself into the record books with a MASSIVE 99 Foot rope swing quadruple back flip. Summer 2010, Lake Tahoe. Enough Said.

http://www.vooray... Check below on how to get hooked up with Vooray clothes :)
Vooray was the one that sponsored this event for this video!! And for everyone that sees this video are goes to there website, they are hooking them off with 15% off there clothes!! Hola! :) All you have to do is use this promo code, "devinsuperslide"!
Also make sure to check out there facebook page! :) https://www.faceb...
Honestly, Vooray is one of my favorite clothing companies around!! They are all super chill to work with, and they fit my "youtube brand" perfectly :) so I am in FULL support of them! And I'm not getting paid to say any of this, just for the record :)
As far as the music goes.... I got full permission from my friends band to use it. "Can't Stop Won't Stop" wrote the music for this video! You can also buy the song used in the video off of there iTunes, check it out in the link right below! I have there facebook fanpage down below as well :) Check 'em out on iTunes - http://itunes.app... And be sure to add them on facebook :) http://www.facebo...
Film was made by Devin Graham For the filming of the event my friend Jace LeRoy was a HUGE help in making this all happen as well. We both ran cameras. Another guy filming the event also let us use the footage that he shot in the evening as well. Special thanks to Kevin Kartchner for that!
On a technical note, we filmed this video with... Canon 5D Mark II Canon T3i
As far as lenses we used: Canon 16-35mm F/2.8 L series lens Canon 70-200 F/2.8 L series lens Canon 10-22mm EF-S
Also make sure to follow me on twitter and facebook, it's the cool thing to do these days :) https://www.faceb... http://twitter.co...
We filmed this in Paradise Utah, on private property. Vooray built the jump and rigged the whole thing together. The distance of the lake was 150 feet. Several people had been flung 120 feet during the filming of the video. And actually... 3 people passed out on impact from hitting the water.... so I wouldn't suggest trying it at home :)
For more info on the making of this video and the rest of my videos, make sure and check out my blog right below, and while your at it, you might as well follow that to ;) http://devingraha...

Special Operations Forces regulations define the requirements for safe operation and mission completion for HALO and HAHO. For day operations, supplemental oxygen must be used by all parachutists above 10,000 feet MSL in the aircraft if exposure exceeds 30 minutes. Oxygen is supplied either by inline oxygen or from portable cylinders. If there are extremes in temperature or physical exertion, the jump master for the HALO or HAHO jump can recommend supplemental oxygen at 5,000 feet MSL. Supplemental oxygen is used during the parachute descent for any jump above 13,000 feet MSL, and can be an option for jumps initiating below 13,000 feet MSL. For night operations, supplemental oxygen is required in the aircraft for all parachutists above 10,000 feet MSL while flying to the drop zone and is encouraged for altitudes above 5,000 feet MSL at the discretion of the jumpmaster. The HALO operations may be performed below 13,000 feet MSL once the parachutist has left the aircraft. The HAHO operations above 10,000 feet MSL must be performed with supplemental oxygen both in the aircraft and under the parachute canopy. Aircraft oxygen delivery systems must be capable of delivering 100 percent oxygen and supplemental oxygen settings with a mask which conforms to physiologic PRICE check procedures. Parachute canopy oxygen delivery systems such as a simple oxygen cylinder and mask must maintain the jumper's oxygen hemoglobin saturation greater than 92 percent. The cold is another factor jumpers must contend with. For every 1,000 feet you ascend, you lose 3.6 degrees Fahrenheit in temperature. In those conditions, knowing the wind-chill factor (a function of ambient temperature and wind speed) is important.
HALO & HAHO: Any time a military flight drops personnel or cargo at altitudes above 18,000 feet, specially trained aerospace physiology technician, nicknamed PTs, must fly on board. These technicians, who are experts in the field of human performance and the effects of flight on the body, monitor the aircrew and parachutists looking for signs of impairment caused by altitude. A physiology tech's most critical duty is recognizing and treating those taken ill by the altitude. They administer to the sick until relieved by a flight surgeon.
