Xero is easy to understand online accounting software for small business owners, consultants, bookkeeping professionals, accountants and people responsible for financial management. Xero is an online accounting system that gives you and your advisors easy access to your bank transactions, invoices, reports, VAT - anytime you need it, from anywhere in the world.

Xero's dashboard gives you a real-time view of your business at a glance, providing a snapshot of all your transactions. You can get a single view of where your money is coming from and when. With Xero you can create, send, receive and report on your invoices all from one place. Using Xeros Report Centre you can generate and view interactive reports in real-time, anytime. Your accountant can also create and publish reports for you.

Because Xero is web based, you can access your accounts and run your business from anywhere in the world. Your trusted advisors can log in and view your accounts too, providing valuable real-time advice. And with Xero, it's quick and easy to do daily bank reconciliations to keep your accounts accurate and uptodate. Your bank statements can be easily imported into Xero and then matched to transactions you have entered.

For small businesses, expense claims are a common way to reimburse personal expenditure. Xero makes it easy to enter and manage those payments. With Xero Contacts you can view and edit the individuals and organisations that you do business with. Information added here will be used in invoices and transactions that you enter into Xero.

At the heart of Xero is a full accrual accounting system which automates and simplifies your day-to-day bookkeeping but has the features your accountant needs.

Xero was founded in July 2006 by successful technology entrepreneur Rod Drury and specialist small business accountant Hamish Edwards.
