great song, like your write-up, too. He was my favoite cowboy when I grew up in Oklahoma in the late 1940's and 1950's. I used to listen to his radio program every week, wouldn't miss it, and for some reason I can't explain, I cried when the program ended.

This is such a good movie because Alan LeMay wrote such a great novel. True to the spirit of life in Texas at the time, and his knowledge and understanding of Indians and Indian warfare at the time exceptional! He knew these things like my grandmother did, and she lived just after that era.
