Eight years after their acclaimed debut album (which received four Swedish Grammys), A CAMP return with Colonia. 12 songs that take the listener on a multi-faceted journey that encompasses doomed civilizations and human relations, sometimes within the frame of the same song. The first single "Stronger Than Jesus" links the album back to its predecessor and its fascination with Americana. The album as a whole, however, is more urban and less predictable, managing to be detailed and immediate, experimental and beautiful all at the same time. A Camp have become a trio, Swedish founding member Nina Persson and Niclas Frisk now joined by American Nathan Larson, film composer, master of texture, former art rocker in '90s band Shudder To Think, and Nina's husband. Nina is of course familiar as the lead vocalist/lyricist of The Cardigans, who have gone through a major musical metamorphosis between almost every album they've made. Niclas Frisk has an equally broad palette, having been a member of indie/glam cult band Atomic Swing, profane gospel pop group Sweet Chariots, as well as producing and writing for some of Sweden's biggest acts.
