Played With Duke Ellington's "Big Band" in the mid 1950's and knew or played with Billie Holliday, Buddy Rich, Gene Kruppa, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Bellson, Count Basie, Elvis Presley, Louis Armstrong, just to name a few
...Sadly this is the only decent Video of him in action and I was standing about 10 feet behind him during one of my visits to the Bay Area...The "Rex Allen Swing Express" band he was in always arranged for a "solo" by pop when i came to town or on special request of an audience member...as I remember he was about 66 at the time of the 1 video on the Playlist...Amazing hand & foot speed.......Pop was one of the best in many ways........
