The Band Muk - Americans sing Khmer
Four young American men have served Cambodia through humanitarian and missionary work over the past eight years. In the spring of 2008 they formed a band called "Muk" (which translates most commonly to "Octopus" or can mean "Hopscotch"). Members of the band are:
Jordan Augustine - guitar & lead singer
Todd Smith (Trumpet and vocals)
Joseph Peterson - bass guitar
Trevor Wright - Drums
Band Muk bacame an overnight sensation when they were featured on LIVE Cambodian Television(CTN) in July 2008. All of the men are fluent in the Khmer language. They perform Khmer folk songs and American tunes with a new jazzy style arranged by band members Todd and Jordan.
