Can someone clarify - what happens AFTER fed buys up the bonds (thereby increasing money supply). Does it get interest from treasury on those bonds? Isnt that income for nothing?! Eventually, does the treasury cancel those bonds by buying back from Fed? What does Fed do with that money?

Not to compare with Lataji's but this one is sweet indeed...however, I should say Pt. DV Paluskar's version is the best IMHO...he so nonchalantly and seemingly effortlessly creates the right 'bhajan' effect with his great voice and singing...

This is one of those songs one could hear a thousand times and yet find them fresh and reveal something new.

How sweet Ashajis voice is and how unique and sweet Shamshad Begum is! This song and the one from CID (leke pehla pehla pyaar) are enough to keep OPN's fame for next 1000 years. The very fact that they are doing remixes of this today shows it cuts cross generations and will continue to do so!

I have listened to this singer a few times in live concerts. I love his simple style and equally simple and pleasing stage presence. What a contrast with his brother(?) who engages in all kinds of on-stage gymnastics and gimmickry producing comparatively poorer music...

actually this is supposed to be a song where in a musical drama a character introduces himself by singing a song. Hence not a kriti. I am not a guru on these matters but read an authoritative post on this controversial topic.

I had a cassette of Burman-da's bengali songs from my Cal days, listened to it so many times this and many other songs are etched in my memory though i only understand 20-30% of the words...great song, great and unique voice..

sorry...imho he has spoiled it. It is a song about toddler Ram that is learning to walk - the poet describes it beautifully, even if you are not religious you can ejoy it. There is not much room for the verbal gymnastics and acrobatics he is engaging in. Please listen to Pt. DV Paluskars version ...

Undescribably sweet Lataji's voice is but one still yearns for Pt. D. V. Paluskar's version of this song...the fluency of his notes and his equally sweet voice make this song an unforgettable classic..
