What is Naat نعت ?
A Naat (Persian: نعت ) is poetry that specifically praises the Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaho Alaiyhee Wa-Alihee Wassallam.) Most of the famous scholars of Islam, including direct followers of Prophet Muhammad, (Sallallaho Alaiyhee Wa-Alihee Wassallam) wrote Naats in the earliest days of Islam.
Commonly the term Naat-Shareef (Exalted Poetry) is reserved and used for the poetry in the praise of Prophet Muhammad (Sallalaho Alaiyhee Wa-Alihee Wassallam) written in Urdu, Persian, and Arabic. In the Arabic language, Naat is usually referred as Nasheed (poetry). It is a general term that could describe any type of religious poetry.

Hazrat Jibrail [Alayh Salam] once came to Prophet Muhammad صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم and said "Allah Almighty has given me the knowledge to count every leaf on earth, every fish in the sea, every star in the sky and every particle of sand on earth, but there's only one thing I cant count." Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) asked "What is it?", Jibrail(A.S) replied, "When one of Your (PBUH) )Ummati recites Durood or Salaams to You (PBUH), the blessings Allah Almighty showers upon him become impossible for me to count." SubhanAllah- Sayyiduna Abu Dardah ( Razi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu ) reported: the Holy Prophet (Sallalaahu Alaihi Wa-Alihee Wasallam) said, "Whoever recites durood on Me in the morning
ten times and in the evening ten times, for him shall be My intercession on the day of Qiyamah."
"By Him in whose Hands My life is, none of you will have faith till he loves Me more than his father and children."

It is Allah's command that we join Him and His Angels in praising Aaqa Kareem Prophet Muhammad Sallalahu Alaihee Wa-Alihee Wasallam. This is one of His few Sunnats we Aashiq-e-Rasuls can follow,but He has given us the freedom to decide how we do it. Standing up and reciting Salam, reciting Durood e Paak or reciting Naat e Paak, these are all the ways of praising the Last and Final Messenger of Allah Subhaana Wa-Taala.........

The shortest distance between you and a problem is the same distance between your knees and the ground you walk on. So always kneel down to Allah Subhaana Wa-Taala with the Sadqa of NABI PAAK Hazrat Muhammad Sallalaho Alaiyehee Wa-Aalihee Wassallam..
