LeadingAge (www.leadingage.org) announces the creation of a new, innovative summit for executives in aging services to help our members meet the challenges of today's world and anticipate tomorrow's opportunities.
The Future of Aging Services Conference and Leadership Summit have now been combined to create this one, high-level, in-depth meeting where leaders in our field meet with strategic innovators to expand the world of possibilities for aging. The PEAK Leadership Summit, to be held April 23-25 in Washington, DC, will feature C-level education content, high-caliber speakers, and expert-led strategy sessions through specialized education formats. "As not-for-profit providers of aging services, our members are crucibles of innovation," said Larry Minnix, LeadingAge president & CEO . This PEAK Leadership Summit is designed to be an incubator of ideas for leadership teams to learn from experts and each other about how to expand the world of possibilities for aging."
The summit features for 2012:
Education Sessions In-depth panel discussions developed around a variety of strategic topics relevant to leaders in aging services. Format allows for shared learning among peers.
Learning Circles Experts in the field explore key issues facing not-for-profit providers. Adult learning methodology and interactive nature offers a unique opportunity to delve deeper into specific issues. This year's Learning Circles feature medical ethicist Michael Gillette and health care reform thought leader Kathleen Griffin.
Workshops High profile authors guide half-day intensive study of their book. Group discussions and hands-on exercises are designed to enable teams to apply the skills and ideas presented. This year's Workshops feature best-selling authors Dan Heath, Leslie Crutchfield and Jason Jennings.
Symposium Case-study analysis of innovative business models being developed by LeadingAge members. Expanded presentation format facilitates peer-to-peer sharing of big ideas.
General Sessions Nationally recognized speakers provide insightful, inspirational and motivating presentations. The content highlights the leadership and advocacy themes of the conference. This year's General Sessions feature author Dan Heath and Washington insider Jim VandeHei.
