About this user

Originally known as "Bad Ben Franklin," A Dan Amongst Dans was a sketch comedy troupe based in Staten Island, NY. They were the creators of the short video series "Robot Nightmares," which was featured on the CW Network's "Online Nation" in 2007. With backgrounds in film and video production, the group often combined short sketch comedy video pieces with live performances. In 2005, the group released their first dvd, featuring over an hour of original sketch comedy.

The main members of the troupe were Frank LaMonaca, Bryan McGuckin, Chris Sorrentino, and John Szeluga, with additional help and performances by such talents as Damien Lucchese, Brian McGowan, and Sally Polizzi, to name a few. In addition, original music by The Infernos, a Staten Island-based surf band, is often used throughout many of the videos.

Although A Dan Amongst Dans disbanded in 2008, there has been talk of releasing a second dvd. John Szeluga continues to produce videos and perform stand-up comedy (http://www.johnszeluga.com). He is also collaborating on a comic book with Chris Sorrentino. Chris is currently a member of the Wahoo Skiffle Crazies, a Staten Island-based jug band.
