@TheAgentdanascully its a remix. i heard this version first but have since listened to the original. the original is class in its own right but i love the way this remix captures something of the essence of it but brings it off somewhere totally different. very ecstatic.

what a beautiful, melancholic song. and what a great choice by Herzog. would love to know how the footage with the pilot came about - did Herzog ask him to sing it or did the pilot do it himself, thereby putting Herzog on to this song, which so suits the film?
