Qur'an:
"Allah! There is no god but He - the Living, The Self-subsisting, Eternal. No slumber can seize Him Nor Sleep. His are all things In the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede In His presence except As he permitteth? He knoweth What (appeareth to His creatures As) Before or After or Behind them. Nor shall they compass Aught of his knowledge Except as He willeth. His throne doth extend Over the heavens And on earth, and He feeleth No fatigue in guarding And preserving them, For He is the Most High. The Supreme (in glory)."
[Surah al-Baqarah 2: 255
Abu Hurairah (radiAllahu anhu) narrated;
"In Surah al-Baqaraah there is an ayah which is the best of all the ayahs of the Qur'an. It is never recited in a house but the Shaytan leaves: Ayat al-Kursi."
"Do you know the Ayatul Kursi?" Anas (radiAllahu anhu) replied "I know". The Prophet (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said, "It is equal to a quarter of the Qur'an.
Asma' bint Yazid (radiAllahu anhu) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say about these two following Ayahs, i.e, verses: "Allah! There is no god but He - the Living, The Self-subsisting, Eternal." [2:255],
"And, Alif Lam Mim, Allah! There is no god but He - the Living, The Self-subsisting, Eternal" [3:1-2],
That they contain Allah's Greatest Name."
