Sneaky Sound System's Second Album May Outshine First
When Sneaky Sound System emerged on the scene as an independent group, their fresh and unique sound was almost immediately picked up on by local DJs and radio stations. When their debut album went on to peak near the top of the charts and then earn platinum sales status, it quickly became apparent that this independent group from Sydney was more than just a fly-by-night dance group.
In the four years since the group was founded, Sneaky Sound System has garnered a tremendous amount of success, including two ARIA Music Awards. Their second album has been much awaited, with speculation mounting regarding whether the group's second album would be able to live up to the success of their debut album.
Now that the appointed time is here, it would seem that Sneaky Sound System's second album will not only be just as good as the first, but may just bring Sneaky Sound System international acclaim and success.
While the group spent a large portion of 2007 on tour, they headed to their recording studio earlier this year to begin working on their second album. Although they did occasionally perform at local clubs, much of their time has been dedicated to producing a mind-blowing album. Judging by the early release of some of the album's tracks, it would certainly seem that their efforts have been well worth it.
Some groups tend to emerge strong, produce an excellent debut album, and then slowly putter out of notoriety when their second album fails to live up to the success of their first. That will not be the case with Sneaky Sound System. In fact, music insiders are predicting that the group's second album may be just what is needed to propel the group to even greater heights.
The appropriately named album, 2, will be available for purchase in stores in Australia on the 12th of July and in the UK on the 22nd of September. During the first week of June, the first single from the forthcoming album debuted at the number 11 spot on the ARIA Club Chart. The same line-up will be used on the second album that proved to be so successful on the first album. Miss Connie will provide outstanding vocals while the unique sounds of Mc Double D and Black Angus will round out the album. The second album will not only feature new material, but some of the best material from their hit debut album as well. "Kansas City" is the first single to be released in Australia, while "Pictures" is scheduled to be the leading single in the UK.
While "Pictures" did appear on the debut album, its appearance on the second album will be decidedly different, as it has been freshened up by Rich Costey. In support of the album, Sneaky Sound System will be going on tour beginning in mi-August, appearing in cities such as Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney. Fans will be treated to a sound that is richer and fuller with Funky House Music

Here it is, finally, the new Alphabeat video to Boyfriend!
http://www.thisisalphabeat.com Here it is, finally, the new Alphabeat video to Boyfriend!
A Happy Alternative: Pop Music Lives! Does today's music have you down? Tired of turning that dial, searching for a song that's not depressing, angry or violent? Enter Alphabeat, your happy alternative. No, they do not play alternative music. If you've never heard of Alphabeat before, you're in the shrinking minority. Their peculiar brand of pop offers you sunny, happy music, combined with real lyric writing, something that's missing from much of today's mainstream music. If you were disappointed at the apparent downfall of pop after the 80's, your reprieve has come and it looks like they're here to stay. Alphabeat started out in Copenhagen, Denmark, under the name Sodastars. Their debut singles won them immediate acclaim in the land of the Danes and garnered them notice in the UK, as well. Their debut album went platinum in Denmark, as well, further cementing their claim to the 80's pop throne. Today, Alphabeat has relocated to the east side of London, England and is currently engaged in their Wonky Pop Tour. One of the most notable appearances will be at Glastonbury this summer, on the Park stage. Alphabeat will take the stage on Saturday, the halfway point of the festival. So, what do Alphabeat have to offer the modern listener? Well, besides happy, feel good music, they provide an amazing show, complete with riotous colours and shiny outfits. Their appeal goes far beyond happy music, though. The sheer enthusiasm with which they take the stage is amazing and comprises one of the main reasons to go see this band live. Their singles, while very good, do not do their songs justice. To truly appreciate Alphabeat, you need decibels and lots of them. In addition, it seems as though they add extra elements to the songs when done live. Where can you catch them playing live? Check out their website (ThisIsAlphabeat.com) or their MySpace page; both of these will give you great tour information. The website actually has the entire schedule, complete with booking information to help you get to the show and help you find tickets. Alternatively, you can try to win tickets through their 10,000 Pictures contest or through their t-shirt design contest. Beyond that, though, you can catch them at venues all around the UK. Their actual tour has already kicked off, but you can still catch them at several spots around the UK!

http://www.royworld.co.uk One label came to see them at rehearsals and immediately made them an offer. Bleeding-edge indie label Fierce Panda -- first home to everyone from Coldplay to Snow Patrol, iLiKETRAiNS and Art Brut -- attended a gig and offered to put out a single, a rites of passage for the stars of tomorrow.
