OK, somebody please tell me why he doesn't just do this on one guitar - I mean, isn't that what guitar players do, chord with the lower hand and hit the individual notes with the upper? Although it occurs to me that doing it on two guitars might free up the "melody" hand.

This seems to be a re-issue of the song from its original release, in Willie's album Yesterday's Wine - unless I've got that backward. Not to quibble, it's just I've loved that album since the early '80's, and I recommend it to anybody who will listen. Still available.
