FRENCHCORE

Frenchcore is a substroming of the hardcore house from France.

Frenchcore (then still industrial terror) has arisen halfway the 90's.
It were mainly the men of Epiteth Rec., under the guidance of Laurent Hô, who dominated.
Also Epileptik Prod. brought out good tracks.

There are two periods of this style.

First period from 1995 up to 2002/3.

The second period from 2003 up to present.



there are 3 important producers.

Radium, he starts Audiogenic and his first own label called Psychik Genocide.
He did also a great job with project Micropoint (Radium and Al Core), his releases on Mokum Records and Androgyn network.

The Speed Freak, the German master producer with his roots in the EBM techno and his great releases on shockwave, Mokum and Psychik Genocide.

and

Lenny Dee, launched Industrial Strength Records (1991). One of the first hardcore-techno labels in the world.


It were especially this 3 producers who ensures frenchcore.
In fact frenchcore has evolved to a recognizable style that we know now.

brought out under Psychik Genocide, were the beginning of a new episode.

How does frenchcore sound?

First you must especially see that France a more techno context has (what e.g. for the English breakbeat\drum 'n bass is and for the Dutch brutal kicks are)

and that explained the use of industial sounds (However the hard, cutting use of the filtersweeps has been mainly brought by the men of deathchant).

Frenchcore sound as the terror at the end of the 90's. Same tempo, but much more playfully and more varied.
It's a special sound that a separate type beat has. Playfully varies the kick, drum and percussion on 8, 16, and 32 beat.
Tempo about 210 and sometime faster.

They use all kind of vocals, parts of a movie, strang noises and sometimes even a little bit of humour.
But not to aggressive environment .


Frenchcore is the tougher brother of techno, tekno, tek, frenchtek, tribecore, hardfloor and jump.


Well-known frenchcore labels/records are:

Audiogenic, Epileptik Productions, Psychik Genocide, Absurd Audio, , Randy 909 % Records, Neurotoxic, Noise Factory and more great others.


Not only French deejay's make frenchcore, but producers from other countries make it also

well-know dj's and producers are:

Radium, The Speed freak, Lenny Dee, The Sickest Squad, Dj Japan, Pattern J, Skoza, hardcoholics, Dj Obscurity, Frazzbass, Randy, Al Core, Dj Sirio, Liquid Blasted, Maissouille, Progamers, Cardiak, Drokz, Goetia and more. ( i'm sorry if i forgot some great artist).
