WD-40 is not a lubricant... it's a Water Displacement spray. Loosen a rusted bolt, spray a squeaky hinge with WD-40 and the problem will return rather soon. Grease is a lubricant. Graphite is a dry lubricant that wears out somewhat quickly. Some other oil would work much better.
