What is really genuine of Erasure is that they still stick to the true "techno" genre. For example, Depeche Mode is a great band, but they couldn't sustain their original genre through the years, so they "accomodated" to what was "cool" with the times.

@YesterdayLand1 Madonna do not copy ABBA. She made Hung Up asking permission to ABBA members for using their piece of Gimme Gimme Gimme. If you hear well her song, the sample used is extracted from the original. Then, is not a copy but a kind of tribute.

In my opinion, this shows that the melodies composed by Pat Leonard for Madonna were the best ones. I miss their work together. Tha last songs composed by him for Madonna that I remember were in Ray of Light.

@bladesmark1 I don't like Coldplay at the same level as ABBA, but I respect them. You are not being objective in relation to todays music. In that manner I could say that ABBA didn't say much for seventies music compared with Chopin or Bach.
