yeah but what you fail to take into account is that the male lion is built to fight other large cats (i.e. other lions) the jaguar is built to hunt. The male lion is much better at fighting than a jaguar. It puts more body weight into its thrusts :P

Like most people I haven't done the necessary research to really understand what is going, but I'm not going to jump onto some bandwagon and pretend that I know as so many people like to do.
