Word that Shackleford is resting up for a possible Breeders' Cup run at Classic or the mile is fantastic news. They have him resting over at Winstar too, my favorite place out in Kentucky. First class stallion barn. Hoping Nehro jogging again is news that he'll be back super strong next year!

It takes a true champion of foot and heart to run down that many great horses the way she did...from that far behind. None other in that race could have replicated that feat. A few more inches, and she'd a had him. What I believe is this: In order to obtain true perfection, one must taste defeat. She is now...more perfect than ever. What grace and stamina to watch her mow down the Preakness winner and the likes of Paddy O' Prado, the Japanese champ, all of them. Blame hung on, but the rest got left in the dust. She's more my hero now, than ever before.

Our girl is still the best, no doubt about that, it just makes me sad to think that she lost by 3 inches, Mike gave her a great ride, I feel so much for him, he was so upset in the press conference. But if she doesn't get HOY, i'll be sick to my stomach. Long live the Queen.
