Los DOS demos
Subjective choice of classic PC demos. Not always chart topping stuff, but interesting none the less.
Small technical note: these are mainly from 1995-1998, which despite of advent of a new Windows OSes was still era of MS DOS. There were 486 and early Pentium processors, VGA cards without 3D capabilities and most popular resolution used was 320x200 in 256 colours (high/truecolour modes in newer productions). Also, no fancy mp3 sound, only modules sequenced from short 8-bit samples, with sometimes as few as 4 channels (or tracks as we would call them today). So making such shiny, good sounding things weren't that easy back then, you know.
