Radiohead, Live at Glastonbury [2003]
By 2003 most people had accepted the idea that it was no longer possible to crash the festival and hence it is recognised as one of the most successful years to date. The number of tickets available to the public was increased slightly over 2002, partially in response to criticism that the 2002 festival was underpopulated and lacked atmosphere. The tickets sold out within one day of going on sale, in marked contrast to the two months it took to sell a similar number in 2002. It was also the first year that tickets sold out before the full lineup was announced.
This was also the year Radiohead returned to headline the Pyramid Stage.
Revenue raised for good causes from ticket and commercial licence sales topped £1 million, half of which went to Oxfam, Greenpeace and Water Aid.
The Most Gigantic Lying Mouth of All Time [Chapter 3]
Radiohead's DVD release at 2004. Short films from RADIOHEAD TELEVISION.
MEETING PEOPLE IS EASY
In 1999 Meeting People is Easy became the first DVD ever released by Radiohead's record label EMI/Parlophone/Capitol Records. The film had been previously released in movie theatres, but not widely. In subsequent years EMI and other record labels have released countless DVDs to promote pop and rock acts, as the format has become dominant over VHS tapes in most parts of the world. Ironically, in contrast with most bands today Radiohead have not promoted themselves much through the format. Since Meeting People Is Easy they have released only one DVD, the 2004 limited release The Most Gigantic Lying Mouth of All Time, based on material taken from their website. Otherwise, there have been bare-bones reissues of a previously released home video of a 1994 live concert, and of 7 Television Commercials, their compilation of Bends and OK Computer videos.
Radiohead, IN RAINBOWS
"IN RAINBOWS" is the so-long awaited seventh studio album by Radiohead.
It was first released on October 10, 2007 as an MP3 download, and is scheduled to be released on December 3, 2007 as a "discbox" with a second CD of additional material.
The band are to finalise a record deal sometime in early October, and "In Rainbows" will most likely be released as a standard CD in January 2008. The band have worked on the follow-up to 2003's Hail to the Thief for more than two years, beginning in early 2005. This release ended the longest gap between Radiohead albums since the beginning of their career.
The album sold 300,000 copies on its first day in the UK alone and by the 12th Oct had already sold more than 1.2 million copies across the globe.
Notice that "Bodysnatchers" is not available to listen due a copyright claim made by Warner/Chappel.
