Another question: could you clearly post what the minimum requirements are for a used D8B to be used ONLY as a DAW control surface? Could one be completely stripped of all PCI cards in back and still work?

Okay, I've seen your videos. Great work.

Will you have a package for Mac users who want to use one or more D8Bs strictly as control surfaces (no audio running through them)? It would be great to have a stand-alone way to employ the D8B without its CPU for mix control and meter bridge monitoring.

While you're at it, maybe you could include a tutorial on what a person should look for (or look OUT for) when purchasing used D8Bs--because if you release a bug-free D8B->DAW solution, D8Bs are going to be in heavy demand again. It would be nice to know what goes bad on them and what to avoid.

couple of questions...
will it be compatible with 96khz or does it even matter?
Are you running all info through midi?
What kind of cable connection(s) are you implementing to connect it to the audio interface (you mentioned special cable)??
Will the headphones out/ audio outputs to monitors go OUT from D8B or interface?
Still gonna need optical ins/outs connected from D8B to interface or no?
