If you set the meter type in the menu from 'Guage' to 'Timer' it will revert to the SOR2 method of taking a little bit of health every time you use the special rather than hogging half your health bar if your gauge isn't full.

Aw thats disappointing the music isn't part of the wad, this song goes amazingly well with the Heretic style. I love the Unreal sountrack.

The only gripes I have with this are that the shotgun and supershotgun recoils look forced as in the weapon is lifted up by the player after the shot. Everything else about this is perfect. This wad is very fun, actually more fun than the original Heretic weapons for me. If you were looking to take this mod a little bit further you could look at getting the Doom statusbar in as well as replacing some of the powerup sprites with their Doom counter-parts i.e Torch to Amplification Gog...

These are awesome re-makes of the original faces. You've really successfully managed to keep the look and feel of the old faces whilst making them look much better at the same time which is something that I would guess is very hard to do.
