i think the goal is to get the bar straight in your upper chest. you can use momentum or whatever technique that you have. if you can't pull up up to your upper chest no count.

tapping out is bieng clever. you can always fight again when you're healthy. rua is a champion like gsp who also tap. the best reason for tapping out is to avoid further damage & injury. rua is not like bj penn who will fight to the death. lol.
