The Youth Show is a weekly half-hour radio program produced by a team a youth. The show discusses topics that are of interest to young people. Every week we deliver rich, fresh, and orginal content and try important issues to the table. Some of the shows we have done in the past have focused on military recruiting, voting in the 2008 presidential election, reading trends, iPhone mania, and the occasional education issues.
The Youth Show airs Saturday nights from 9-9:30 P.M. on local radio station 90.1 FM KPFT, 89.5 FM in Galveston. The Youth Show was put together by Houston-based non-profit We Are New Voices.
It first reached the airwaves in May of 2006, branching out of the KPFT Summer Youth Program.
The Youth Show is growing to include more youth from different areas of the country and the globe. We partner with schools to get students there to produce stories for both the radio and the web.
