(I say this with the utmost hope that I'm not starting another Youtube Muse vs. Radiohead argument...)

Far and away Muse's best song. Bass, drums and guitar are all so perfectly measured, vocals are spot on (and reaaaally raw and powerful) and the lyrics are actually pretty good (considering that's generally their weak spot). I'm sure I'll get some abuse for that last bit, but oh well.

@Stryket66 True. I've always liked that about Muse. Whenever they do cover songs, they at least jazz them up a bit as opposed to doing exactly the same as the original band. I do prefer The Smiths' version, but then again it's one of my all-time favourite songs so y'know.

@SilvioZappaStratos I don't know about 'so much' better... I mean either way, it's gotta be close. I'd personally say Marr edges it. It's just because he pretty much invented a style of guitar playing and showed another side to its importance in rock music... and no-one has come near to replicati...

I love the progression into Scottish accents.

Love watching this, especially as I'm a big fan of West End Girls by Pet Shop Boys too. It's a brilliant homage to it, not just musically but in the video as well!

@tomgarify OMG lol well because Radio 1 said it it MUST be true. So Wonderwall is the best British song ever, and that's fact, right? Ah well, I'd better stop listening to creative bands like Radiohead and start listening to bands who burn out after one good album (wonder who that could be?)...

Best Smiths song, definitely. Meat is Murder is my favourite album too... so underrated!

@3kour Uhm... dunno where you got that from, but Kieran Hebden/Four Tet is from London, as is Burial. They went to the same school.

One of my favourite Radiohead songs in terms of the vocals is Bloom. The 'giant turtle's eyes' line is sung so softly, but with unbelievable power. And I just love the way they kind of drone on (in the best way possible) generally throughout the song. He's completely unbeatable.
