Can someone please help me verify something?? Is that a very young Eric Miyashiro on trumpet? It sure does look (and sound) like him. Never seen this footage before, so it is hard for me to nail down.

@Bluesmen88 You are correct, part of the reason Kaye left was the rest of the band wanted him to use synthesizers on Fragile (especially Heart of the Sunrise), and he was loyal to his Hammond organ, so Rick Wakeman came in and re-recorded some of Kaye's parts, (especially Heart of The Sunrise).

@JaxDryke bottomline is that I never disparage the youth of today, on the contrary, I encourage them to expand their musical horizons and avoid falling into the trap of limiting themselves to a single genre. Unfotunately, the music industry of today, and society as a whole encourage just that.......

@rockanroller1 Not just Rod Stewart...he recorded it in 1969...Chris Farlowe was the first to release it in 1967, but by far the best version was the jazz/rock fusion version by Chase in 1971 which was sung by Ted Piercefield.

But I do agree, this is a very nice cover.

Lots of great music from Yes over the years......I have always felt the this was their finest masterpiece....until the Going For The One album came out.....I now truly believe that Awaken gives Close to the Edge a close race for the title of "Greatest Yes Composition".
