The menorah is a seven-branched candelabrum which has been a symbol of The Jewish nation and its religion for almost 3000 years and is the emblem of Israel. It was used in the ancient Holy Temple in Jerusalem. Lit by olive oil in the Tabernacle and the Temple, the menorah is one of the oldest symbols of the Jewish people. It is said to symbolize the burning bush as seen by Moses on Mount Horeb.

My wife and I are originally from Iraq (kurdistan) we come from Assyrian-Chaldean families. We are big supporter of Israel and Jews throughout the world. I am very impressed with your page, education is the key to enlightment. May G-d continue to bless you and all of the jewish people. We pray "Allah baruch la b'nei yisrael" — "God bless the people of Israel". You know the Assyrian-Chaldeans are very closley related to the Iraqi-Jews!! Many claim we are decendants of the lost tribes(since many assimilated)...aI know we share many customes, traditions, and language. G-D bless!!!
