About Me:

Vanitas (ヴァニタス Vanitasu) is the embodiment of the darkness in Ventus's heart, created by Master Xehanort. He is also the source of the Unversed, which are spawned from his emotions to carry out his will. He wields a Keyblade called Void Gear (ヴォイドギア) in a stance similar to Riku's, and wears a full-body suit resembling Riku's "dark mode" costume, concealing his face behind a black, rounded mask. Despite his similarities to Riku, his physical appearance is identical to that of Sora with black hair and yellow eyes in contrast to Sora's brown hair and blue eyes. His name is derived from the Latin word for "emptiness,"

...Vanitas exists for the purpose of fighting with Ventus so that their respective hearts of pure darkness and light can merge and forge the χ-blade. Noting Ventus's weakness, Vanitas goads him into following his friend Terra and pits him against the Unversed to strengthen him, all while monitoring his strength and progress. He also makes several attempts on Aqua's life, deeming her to be an obstacle to Master Xehanort's plans. He merges with Ventus during the final battle at the Keyblade Graveyard, though Ventus's consciousness prevents the χ-blade's completion. Vanitas fights Ventus in a metaphysical battle within Ventus's mind while simultaneously possessing his body and fighting Aqua and Mickey, wielding the χ-blade during both fights. Ventus and Aqua both defeat Vanitas and destroy the χ-blade, vanquishing him and the Unversed.
