Here's my latest collaboration with the very talented machinimator, Legs. The song, "Wrought", is by my friends, the Seattle Rock Band, Peratus. Our interpretation of their song is a tragedy which unfolds as you see flashbacks from the perspective of an undead warrior who recalls how he fell in love with a beautiful blood elf, a forbidden love which was unacceptable to her people. What transpires afterwards will (hopefully) chill you to the bone.
We hope you enjoy "Wrought". I certainly have enjoyed watching this beautiful tragedy be brought to... life. :)
Legs has posted the original version on her YouTube channel. I'm posting this version with subtitles here on my channel. Stop by Legs' channel if you haven't already and say "hi".
If you like the song, please check out Peratus at http://www.peratusrocks.com. You can also find the music video I made with the band in 2007 and 2008 on my channel.
You can read more about the creation of this video on my blog at http://www.cranius.com. I'm also on Facebook - hope to see you there. Legs also has a blog at http://legsmachinima.blogspot.com.
Here are the lyrics: I'm left alone with all the monsters in my head They say to me you won't choose life over death Insane attraction causes stillness in my mind Only a fraction of the things I've left to find
Oh without you, all alone I see right through Strong intentions left and gone
I can't control my so impulsive frame of mind I feel the reigns, the bridle, jerk my head in line I wanna scream I wanna kill I wanna shout I choke it back and take a punch right in the mouth
Oh without you, all alone I see right through Strong intentions left and gone
(Ahhh) I cannot take this on my own, (ahhh) there's no excitement (Ahhh) You rather see me rot alone (Ahhh) Instead I suffer here for this
I take a breath from that toxic mask of mine And fight the urge to disappear into the night And by my side I see a monster on my wing He drives me on he keeps me safe he makes me see
That without you, all alone I see right through Strong intentions left and gone
(Ahhh) I cannot take this on my own, (ahhh) there's no excitement (Ahhh) You rather see me rot alone (Ahhh) Instead I suffer here for this
You see me, I'm pleading For you to stop my bleeding You see me, I'm pleading For you to stop my bleeding
(Ahhh) I cannot take this on my own, (ahhh) there's no excitement (Ahhh) You rather see me rot alone (Ahhh) Instead I suffer here for this
You see me, I'm pleading For you to stop my bleeding You see me, I'm pleading For you to stop my bleeding For you to stop my bleeding For you to stop my bleeding

Update: Sorry guys, since this song is owned by UMG, they've restricted viewing of it in some countries. Nothing I can do about it unfortunately. I will upload this video somewhere else though.
I was in Stranglethorn Vale scouting out locations to film a movie for the 2009 Blizzcon video contest when Short John Mithril announced the Gurubashi Arena event:
"Arrr, Me Hearties! I be havin' some extra Treasure that I be givin' away at the Gurubashi Arena! All ye need do to collect it is open the chest I leave on the arena floor!"
When I arrived, there was a Paladin and a Death Knight duking it out. I figured I'd wait until one killed the other, then jump in and finish the winner off and grab the loot. Easy right?
Well... not quite. There were a few surprises hiding in the darkness. What transpired was pretty amusing and I just had to share. While this fight was going on I just kept singing to myself "Last Man Standing!".

This is a re-edit of my original music video "Big Blue Dress". Many people have been asking for me to upload a better version to YouTube now that it supports higher resolutions and wide screen. Also since I've started using YouTube to post my videos, some people wanted them all in one place. In converting this old video to wide screen, I actually had to edit it from scratch because just trimming the original didn't work as you might expect. As a result, there are some minor differences between this video and the original. Since I was doing it from scratch, I did change a few things that you might notice. However, I tried to keep these changes very small.
For you machinimators out there, I strongly recommend that you archive your footage and your project files because you never know when you might want to do something like this.
I wrote this song and shot all the footage in 2005. Not only was this before the Burning Crusade expansion pack, but also it was before the first "mage love" patch which made the mage more powerful. So please don't focus on the numbers you'll see in this video. The video was never about the critical hits. If I could have removed that text, I would have. In some cases I was able to because I was using a "camera man", but in other cases it was live footage with the UI turned off (try it some time), but I couldn't turn off the damage numbers. That said, these crits were about as good as it got in early 2005. I could have gone bigger with trinkets and arcane power, but this was considered bad form in videos at the time.
I'll include a FAQ about this video here. I'll try to answer some of the questions that have been asked over the years, and I'll try to add good questions as they crop up. If you have more questions, check my blog (www.cranius.com) or send me some mail (cranius@cranius.com).
Where can I get the MP3? Can I find this on iTunes? Download it from http://www.cranius.com/audio/BigBlueD...
How do you fly? That's not flying. That's falling with style. :) In this video, most of the flying is performed by casting Slow Fall, a mage spell that causes you to ... fall slowly. Then I mount up on my epic mount and run and jump off a cliff. You can jump from the Lumbermill to the Blacksmith in Arathi Basin, for example.
How do you cast a giant fireball while moving/flying? The mage talent "Presence of Mind" (aka "POM") causes your next cast to be instant. So I cast this spell and then cast Pyroblast. Since it's instant, you can cast it while moving/flying.
What's that white horse? Where do you get it? The white stallion was the original human epic mount. It's no longer available in game. Only those who kept their original epic mount still have one.
What are you wearing in this video? Cowboy hat - Master's Hat Pink - Magister's set (so-called tier 0.5) Blue - Original PvP set Brown - Twill "set" (it sucks, but it looks cool) :)
Who's the Author? Who made the music video? I wrote the song, I go by "Cranius", and I made the original music video as well as this new version here. I didn't upload the original version to YouTube, though some other people did.
What are the lyrics? What are the gnomes saying? See http://cranius.spaces.live.com/blog/c...
