Though M. Shadows is known as the primary voice of Avenged Sevenfold, Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan's vocals have played a big part in their recordings too. He was always the higher-voiced guy hitting the higher harmonies in the background, but occasionally getting solo spots too.
Sullivan was a tenor with a really good high register. He never got to show his whole range properly, but showcased amazing vocal moments here and there with his band. After Sullivan's death the rest of Avenged Sevenfold wanted to use playbacked vocals of Sullivan, instead of getting anyone else to sing his parts.
1. 0:00 - A C♯3 from "Save Me". 2. 0:04 - A quick C3 from "Necromance Theatre". 3. 0:10 - "Fiction" with Sullivan going down to strong C3. 4. 0:19 - More strong lows from "Fiction", Sullivan goes down to another good C3. 5. 0:34 - Lots of really weird lows from "Mezmer" bottoming around G2 (few C5s there too). 6. 0:58 - Whispered D2s from the alternative studio take of "Critical Acclaim". 7. 1:02 - Really growly lows from "Necromance Theatre" filled with effects, some growled D2s in the passage. 8. 1:10 - Growled A1s from "Necromance Theatre". 9. 1:20 - Time for Sullivan's fantastic high notes (the reason I wanted to make this video): a powerful A4s from "A Little Piece of Heaven", M. Shadows is singing in the beginning (he has noticeably lower voice). 10. 1:37 - An easy B4 from "McFly". 11. 1:45 - An incredible C5 from "Fiction", one of my favourite vocal moments by Sullivan. 12. 1:59 - M. Shadows going up to B♭4s while Sullivan glides up to great clean C5s in the chorus of the cover of "Flash of the Blades" (originally by Iron Maiden). 13. 2:18 - Lots of soft C5s in the backing vocals of "Lost". 14. 2:41 - Good C5s from the backing vocals of the live version of "Seize the Day". 15. 3:02 - Shadows goes for A4s while Sullivan hits powerful C♯5s in the backing vocals of "Scream". 16. 3:18 - A Slide up to a powerful D5, afterwards an intensely powerful sustained D5 by Sullivan (while Shadows sustains an A4), the song is called "Crossroads". 17. 3:38 - Amazing D5s from "Critical Acclaim". 18. 3:52 - The final passage from the same song, this time with mindblowing sustained high note sliding up to a D5. 19. 4:07 - More D5s from the same song live, Sullivan nails them. 20. 4:22 - Another performance of the same song, Sullivan goes up to really clean and powerful D5s. (It is clear that he could have gone much higher) 21. 4:53 - Lots of really powerful D5s from "Afterlife". 22. 5:20 - Sullivan's highest full voice note, a clean E♭5, from "Necromance Theatre". 23. 5:25 - A clean falsetto G5 from "Necromance Theatre". 24. 5:31 - Finally Sullivan's highest note overall, an awkward screamed non-modal A5 from "Mezmer".

Bruce Dickinson is the vocalist mostly known as the frontman of legendary heavy metal band Iron Maiden. He is low tenor with great showcase of both highs and lows.
Dickinson has fantastic low notes for tenor voice and his high notes are widely respected as some of the best in heavy metal. Dickinson's operatic style and wide vibrato have also proved to be really imitated among modern metal singers.
1. 0:00 - Solid B2s and few A2s from "The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg". 2. 0:19 - Lots of solid low notes from "Fear of the Dark" bottoming around A2, Bruce should have tried going even lower! 3. 0:47 - Short G♯2s from "Afraid to Shoot Strangers". 4. 1:05 - Spoken A2s and G2s from "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son". 5. 1:33 - Strong F2 from the goofy cover of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". 6. 1:43 - Live version of "Fear of the Dark" with solid A2s and one short F2. 7. 2:07 - Lots of solid A2s and F2 from "The Talisman", Dickinson's low singing has improved a lot from his earlier days! (He gets D5s in the song too!) 8. 2:23 - Low passage from the live performance of "Sign of the Cross" bottoming around strong E2, good notes. 9. 2:35 - Acoustic passage of "Dance of Death" with subtle but solid E2. 10. 2:44 - Live performance of "Dance of Death" with two good E2s, much stronger than the one in studio version. 11. 3:00 - Solid E♭2 from "Sheriff of Huddersfield", really good note. 12. 3:03 - Lots of really great low notes bottoming around solid D2s, the song is called "The Post Alternative Seattle Fall Out", really impressive lows by a tenor! 13. 3:44 - Eerie low passage from "From Here to Eternity" bottoming around D2. 14. 4:11 - Creepy low passage from "Believil" with Bruce going down to strange C♯2s. 15. 4:51 - Dickinson's lowest note, fry F1 and great full B1 from the intro of "The Post Alternative Seattle Fall Out". 16. 4:56 - Time for high notes: lots of clean C5s from "Déjà vu". (Somewhere in Time is the best Iron Maiden-album for me.) 17. 5:08 - Short but good C5 from "The Assassin". 18. 5:12 - Fantastic B4 with a trill up to C♯5, the song is "The Thin Love Between Love and Hate". 19. 5:25 - Amazing C♯5 from "Flight of Icarus". 20. 5:31 - Quick C♯5 from "Believil", Bruce spans 3 octaves in this song! 21. 5:38 - Excellent C♯5 from "Communion". 22. 5:54 - Great, clean D5s from "The Talisman", really impressive singing considering how old Dickinson is! 23. 6:18 - Magnificent clean D5s from "Total Eclipse". 24. 6:46 - Impressive climb up to really clean and great D5s, the song is "To Tame a Land". 25. 7:04 - Really powerful D5s from the live performance of "Walking Out on You" during his Sampson-years. 26. 7:33 - Crowd scream from the live version of "The Mercenary" where Dickinson goes up to E♭5. 27. 7:39 - Cover of Led Zeppelin's "Communication Breakdown" with Bruce soaring up to E♭5 and sustaining the note while gliding up and down. 28. 7:59 - Legendary chorus of "Run to the Hills" with impressive high notes up to E5s. 29. 8:22 - Fantastic E5s from the cover of Jethro Tull's "Cross-Eyed Mary". 30. 8:37 - Incredible sustained E5 from "Where Eagles Dare", Bruce avoided this note during live performances. 31. 8:54 - Fantastic sustained E5 from "Children of the Damned" with quick falsetto F♯5 after that. 32. 9:07 - Another clean and good E5, this time from "The Trooper". 33. 9:12 - Quick and clean F5 (Bruce's highest full voice note!) from the live version of "Bring Your Daughter... To the Slaughter", the performance was in 2003! 34. 9:21 - Another F5, this time during the crowd shout-out of the live version of "Hallowed Be Thy Name". 35. 9:30 - Strained but legit F5 from "Dance of Death", Bruce spans over 3 octaves in this song! 36. 9:36 - Finally falsetto notes: insane falsetto climb up to G5 and slide down to F♯5 in the live performance of "Where Eagles Dare". 37. 9:46 - Powerful falsetto F♯5 from "Gangland". 38. 9:52 - Amazing G5 descending lower, the song is "Rime of the Ancient Mariner". 39. 10:08 - Insane falsetto descending from G♯5 to F♯5 in the live performance of "Flight of Icarus". 40. 10:23 - Great and raw G5 from "Be Quick or Be Dead". 41. 10:30 - Famous G5 from "Aces High". 42. 10:38 - Legendary A5 from "Number of the Beast", fantastic note! 43. 10:51 - Intense A5 from "Take It Like a Man". 44. 10:56 - Fantastic ending of "Run to the Hills" with climb up to G5 and finally B5 (the highest note Bruce has showcased). 45. 11:11 - Powerful B5 from "Gangland".
